Power and status lights
Use a 2 A or better power source
Stratux needs at least 2 amps. Phone chargers rated at 1 A, long thin cables, and some aircraft USB ports can't keep up, and the result looks like a software problem: reboots, dropped Wi-Fi or a blinking red light. A good battery pack also lets you move Stratux around the cockpit freely.
What the lights mean
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Solid green | Normal | Nothing. Connect your tablet. |
| Blinking red | Not enough power | Use a 2 A+ source and try another cable. |
| Red light only, no green | Corrupt microSD card | Reflash the card. |
| Flashing green | Software problem | Reflash the card. |
| No lights at all | Power or hardware | Try another supply and cable, then another microSD card. If still dark, the Pi may have failed. |
No Stratux Wi-Fi network
- Wait two full minutes after power-on; it may still be booting.
- Turn your tablet's Wi-Fi off and on again.
- Check the lights using the table above.
Heat
The fan turns on at about 55 °C. In a hot cockpit, keep the side vents clear and avoid direct sun on the case where you can. A Raspberry Pi 4 runs hotter and draws more power than the standard Pi 3B/3B+.
