SQUAWKLE
The daily aviation Wordle for pilots. One five-letter aviation word, six tries, a new puzzle every day.
How to play
- Type a five-letter aviation word and press Enter. Every guess must be a real word from the list.
- Green means the right letter in the right spot. Amber means the letter is in the word but in a different spot. Grey means it is not in the word at all.
- You have six tries. Hard mode forces you to reuse every hint you have already uncovered. Color-blind mode swaps the colors for orange and blue.
- Everyone gets the same word each day, so you can compare your grid with friends without spoiling the answer. Finish the daily puzzle to unlock unlimited practice.
Why pilots like it
Every answer is a word you meet in the cockpit, the hangar or the briefing room: PITOT, FLARE, NOTAM, VIRGA, TACAN. Each solved puzzle shows a one-line definition, so a quick daily round doubles as light ground-school review. A streak counter rewards showing up every day, just like currency in the logbook.
Pilots who enjoy the terminology may also like how ADS-B actually works.
