GROUND SCHOOL SHOWDOWN
The live aviation quiz night for your hangar, chapter or flight school.
How to play
One person opens this page on a big screen and taps HOST A GAME, then picks categories, the number of questions and the timer. Players open the same page on their phones, enter the four-letter room code and a nickname, or scan the QR code on the projector.
Each question and its four answers appear on the big screen. Players tap the matching colored shape on their phone. A right answer is worth 500 points plus up to 500 more for speed, and streaks add a bonus. The top five show after every question and the winners get fireworks.
No room to host? Practice solo: ten questions against the clock, with keys 1 to 4 to answer. Questions cover regulations, weather, airspace, aerodynamics, navigation, radio and ATC, ADS-B and avionics, and some fun trivia.
Run an aviation quiz night
It works as a quick icebreaker at EAA chapter meetings, flight school safety nights, FAA WINGS events, scout aviation badges and ground school classes. There is nothing to install or sign up for: the host needs one screen with a browser, and players use their own phones. Every question has a short explanation, so the quiz teaches as it goes.
