Taxiway Tycoon
Build an airport tile by tile. Your planes will land on the runway the wind prefers, eventually.
How to play
- Pick a tool on the left and drag on the map. A green preview means go. A red one tells you why not.
- Lay a runway by dragging a line. It is always three tiles wide, and one tile is 500 ft.
- Add taxiways, then gates with apron in front, then a terminal with check-in, security, a gate lounge and restrooms.
- Sign airlines in the Airlines window. Their flights appear on the schedule board, and the planes taxi to your gates.
- Keep passengers happy and the money growing. Fees, loans and ratings live in the Finance window.
Use the mouse, touch or keyboard. P pauses, M mutes, Z undoes your last build and Esc opens the arcade menu.
Scenarios
Eight scenarios start from bare land, each with its own climate, terrain and goals. Tiny Strip, Big Dreams is the gentle start, Hub of the Rockies is hot and windy, and Megahub or Bust is the big one. Win to unlock the next and earn up to three stars. Sandbox has no goals.
Why pilots like it
Runway length is real. Hot, high air is thin, so takeoff and landing rolls get longer, which is why the Rockies runways need more tiles than the same jet would at sea level. Airliners need hard surfaces, because grass and gravel only suit light aircraft. Planes also land into the wind, and the game picks the active runway the same way a tower does.
