CLEARED TO LAND
A retro air traffic control game. Draw paths, land the traffic, keep everyone apart.
How to play
- Drag from a plane to draw its path. End the path on a runway, lined up with the green approach arrows, to clear it to land.
- Jets and GA planes land on runways, helicopters use the H pad and seaplanes need the water lane. A plane without a path flies straight and bounces off the edges.
- A red ring means traffic is too close. Touching means a midair, and the game is over.
- Check the wind sock and banner, because only the active runway accepts landings. Streaks of clean landings earn bonus points. There is a daily challenge with its own board.
Why pilots like it
Sequencing arrivals and keeping separation is what real controllers do all day, and the game gives you a taste of that workload. Pilots get a new appreciation for what the voice on the radio is juggling, and the ADS-B panel previews the next inbound much like a real traffic display.
Real traffic data comes from ADS-B. Read how it works.
